Procrastination-Nation

I always get like this. D:

I PROCRASTINATEEEE.

I have orientation this week. I still have a blank academic plan form staring me in the face. I need to focus, but distractions are so lovely. I've been throwing myself into writing of late, and entertaining myself with old shows. And that's only when I'm not hanging out with friends all day, and, occasionally, a short part of the night.

I've always thought summer is meant to be summer. Summer days may be long, but not quite long enough.

Ah, well. I've still got two days to procrastinate. Then, that form is going to kick me in the behind.

Funny. My valedictorian speech was about procrastination, too.

NaruHina, NejiTen Projects? Input?

  • May. 12th, 2009 at 7:45 PM
EHH Elraine
So, I've been secretly working on a couple of new projects--rather on a whim. I can say with almost 100% absolute certainty that I will no longer be working on my old NaruHina work: Restorative. It's just too hard for me to continue my original plan for the plot of that work, now that the confession has already happened. But I still wanted to contribute to one of the sweetest pairings I've ever come across, so I toyed with a new idea.

What do you think about:

The Busboy: In which Naruto is a busboy, and Hinata is a waitress. Not-so-scandalous antics ensue.

Excerpt:

Her head bobbed of its own volition. “I see you here, too.” She caught herself before she could make another redundant comment and excused herself to put in the order. As she clipped up the scrap of pastel green paper on the revolving wheel, Ino snuck up from behind her.

You like him?”

-------------------------------------------------------------

Halcyon: With wings sharp like swords, but she nests on the wind, and the waters calm beneath.

Excerpt:

With surprising dexterity, she bent down and scooped up what appeared to be his grimy navy blue coat in one hand, and, miraculously intact, a soaked sack of gold and silver pieces--the remainder of his fortune for the journey--in the other hand.

"What's your name, stranger?” she asked him smilingly.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Obviously, both are AU, and as such, makes me an amateur. The latter happens to be a pirate-like universe, but not so much since neither of main two will be involved. I thought the ideas were cute, so I really do want to expand on them, but any input? They're still in the very beginning stages (I have short first chapters written for them both), but I just wanted to know if they were worth toying with. Thank you~

Unnecessary

I'm feeling a little bit better than yesterday. I guess I don't know how exactly I feel. I'm not sad, not happy, not angry, not overwhelmed, not relaxed, not listless, not bustling. There must be something you call that.

I just want this year to be over I guess. I'll probably regret that once I get to graduation day, but, right now, life is making me a just a little ill, in a sense. On the upside, it appears that I am, in fact, allowed to bring a rice cooker with me to college. And most of my closest friends are going be within an hour's drive away once we head off to college, except, of course, my best friend. I should just focus on the positives.

I want this summer to be unforgettable.

Blazing, in More Ways Than One

It was a lovely 95 degrees Fahrenheit today.  I think the back of my neck is getting irritated, meaning slight sun burn.

I know I say this quite often, but, really, school is driving me into the ground.

Yearbook crunch time is now and I feel pretty useless as an editor.

I still impatiently waiting for my copy of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time to arrive.

I am pretty furious right now. I was listlessly typing away on my computer when, surprisingly, the arrow on my screen clicked out of my browser, roved over to my iTunes, and--without fingers!--began typing a series of odd codes into one of the side columns. Then, much to my befuddlement, I began to access the iTunes store, without my own consent! How strange, I thought, and promptly closed the window.

Hey, if you're still trying to hack my computer, stop it. Don't you have anything better to do?

Other than that, really, I'm doing good. My trip up north was lovely, and I'm looking forward to moving up there someday soon. :)

Yes. It's true. I'm afflicted.

It's so absurd. I'm not even going to bother trying to keep up. So, I'll probably be posting drabbles on my ff.net daily until I run out of them, or at least until . . . Friday? So, if anyone--which I doubt--is interested, please check my ff.net, since I most likely will not be posting links to updates on my lj.

 . . . I'm such a nerd.

Omg, I might even be crazy enough to take drabble requests. Omg.

Missing You and Stuff

Kid in the Sky
I read a fanfic today. After all this time, I read one all the way through a small series. Didn't even take very long, but it's been such a long time since I've actually read something longer than a drabble. It was a little rough around the edges, but it employed some great imagery and I think captured some themes of life that we often overlook. And then, I realized it. I miss writing. Dearly. But, heck, I can't indulge myself too much, or I'll begin to fall behind. I already basically missed a week and a half of school (half there, half not, mentally, physically) because I got sick and because of not one but two funerals. I caught up, but it took a while.

So, that's basically my update. I'm eager to make this last summer a blast. And life is too short, already a third into the year, and January felt like it happened only yesterday.

If you're a fan of the movie The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, I just posted an old scrap drabble of it on my ff.net.

If you're a fan of TV series Toradora, here's my two cents: It was a sweet and unexpected series. And though I knew Ryuuji would end up with Taiga, I still rooted for Kushieda and Ami. I enjoyed the Ryuuji/Taiga dynamic up until it got serious.

I'm still missing on everyone. Spring break soon, expect either scareness (again) or frenzied commentary.

Title: Circumstance
Author: yours truly
Rating: K
Summary: There's a witch at the dance. But that's not Soul's main concern.
Notes: When I saw Episode 50, I knew I had to retrieve this from the recycle bin and post it for the laughs. Because it's cracky, silly, and generally idiotic.

( When her arms draped around his neck, she was going to tell him something was wrong. )

Yes, I'm still rather functional. Just pre-occupied with scholarships. I'm . . . about 60% complete with two of them. One's due tomorrow. The other, next week. Oh, boy. *drowns*

Title: Bathroom Talk
Author: yours truly

Summary: He thinks she thinks it's not. But she thinks it is.
Notes: I kind of can't get enough of these two. *blatant bias*

( Put some pants on next time, Soul. )

--

In other news, because--omg, it's true--there is more to my life than Soul/Maka, I'm still having difficulties applying myself to scholarships. UGH, so many . . . essays. Pain. Suffering. Obvious over-exaggerations. However, I was very, very pleased today (meaning I was bubbling estatic) to find out that if I maintain my 4.0 to the end of the year, I obtain a $700-875 scholarship from the school! Yes! Now I don't feel like a complete loser on my failure to finish any other scholarships!

:D

Also, in light of the joyous (or, tragic, since it's debatable) NaruHina talk, I've started on a project. Not sure if I'll continue Restorative yet, but I'm rather pleased with the first chapter of this new fic I have in the works. The second chapter . . . is another story.

Pink Flower

So, I am alive!

We made it to fifth in the competition, but, honestly, being totally objective here, we had the potential to be first and go the state championships. But, I have a feeling ths scorers had a bias against us. And I'm not the only one who thinks this. We're [town named after a turnip farmer] after all. Not a lot of people have very high opinions of us. Yet. But we'll make it one day. And, now, my normal life can resume.

And so, I also heard about Naruto 437 SPOILERS! )

A meme I found while browsing out of the complete and total boredom. Choose 10 characters/people from any fandom(s), and answer the questions below. No peeking! OHOHOHOH. )

The END. Hopefully, I can get back into writing someday soon.

Vanishing Acts and How I Overcome Them

  • Jan. 25th, 2009 at 7:35 PM
Kid in the Sky
I should have mentioned this before, but my computer is absolutely fried. Currently, I am tapping away on my brother's. It all started with an infuriating, unrelenting pop-up for something called the Anti-virus 2009 or something of the sort. I had a feeling it was bogus, but since I started getting all sorts of spam on my computer, I thought--for a split second!--hey, maybe I do need this. And let my finger slip onto the download button. BIG MISTAKE. GAAAAAAAH. When I tried to eradicate it manually, it worked. Only, everything on the desktop got wiped off the face of the planet. Except my pretty flower wallpaper. But that is not the point.

Now, my poor computer is sitting unplugged in my room, waiting to be transported to my resourceful uncle for repair. Haaaaa. Haaa. Oh, self. Why so lame?

This was some time ago, really, but lucky, resourceful me, I could still access my documents, iTunes, and the internet via the Windows Task Manager. But then my internet failed, too. So, here I am. Cornered.

School is driving me into the ground. No time for writing or indulging. Well, except my guilty pleasures, of course. I just ordered myself Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness for DS. The main character looks like a pirate; I couldn't help myself. I don't play games very often, but when I do, my addiction level is off the charts. I promise to play sparingly, though. What a lie. LIAR. Originally, I was only going to get it to reward myself for getting all A's, but, uhm, still waiting on Journalistic Design. Mercy.

Oh, yes. I got a new pair of glasses. After someone stepped on my old ones. The look on my English teacher's face when she returned the tragic pieces to me. But I'm taking really good care of my new ones. *nods*

So, I don't know the next time I indulge myself on the 'net, but if I don't back on soon. Happy New Year, everyone! And Chinese New Year tomorrow! Wear red! And smile brilliantly!

Did I get to mention this? I am in love.

With kettle corn.

New favorite snack. New BFF forever. I need another six bags of this stuff.

Loving generously,

me, myself, and I
